It was commonly thought that yachting was extremely costly beyond the scope of normal people. But this is changing in our days. People join sailing schools learning about the magic of sailing, the quirks of weather and the secret art of marine knots.

... sailing holidays have developed increasingly and more of us decide to take our holidays aboard a sailing yacht.
Try this different way to spend your holidays visiting the islands and discovering remote otherwise inaccessible bays for a week or two. You can embark at Nafplio or one of the Saronic islands. Like this you don't have to spend time in the shipping lanes just to get away from Athens.
If you do not have a lot of time there is now the opportunity for a day trip starting from graceful Nafplio, where I'm based this year. Nafplio is the first capital of modern Greece, famous for its mediaeval forts. Palamidi on the top of the hill above the town and Bourtzi which is built on a miniscule island in the harbour. Let Captain Aris act as your guide and instructor. You will have fun. The 300 people who came sailing with me last year had an enjoyable time.
